Eerees IrisIris Lapaix is an Afro-Dominicana Americana native of Boston but watering roots in Brockton. She infuses cooking, dancing, and music as a form of expression, therapy, and joy. Being involved with nonprofits, she grew an appreciation for collaboration and community activism.

Daphny EmilyAs a kriola born and raised in Brockton, MA, Daphny Emily has always been surrounded by the culture of her family’s home country of Cabo Verde. Being proud to come from a city with a large diverse population of people from around the globe, Daphny took a knack for wanting to know where the people around her are rooted from.

Acknowledging the wisdom and experiences her family and ancestors hold, Iris pursued her degree from BSU with a BA in history with a concentration on Latino America y el Caribe. Currently, she supports; Roxbury Sunflower Project and Serenity Urban Retreat, which use art and food, respectively, to activate dialogue and growth among black and brown beauties. Currently, Iris is immersing her development in a career in philanthropy.

Daphny identifies as an African, Black, Cape Verdean Woman from Brockton. This is who she is and these are the people she will and has outspokenly fought for.
With being grounded in her identity, Daphny seeks to empower women, especially women of color, in a world that so often chooses to silence them. |
